The 14 Major Allergens

UK law requires food businesses to provide allergen information for these 14 substances:

How We Label Allergens

Every Chilled Curry product clearly displays allergen information:

  • On packaging: All allergens are listed in BOLD in the ingredients list
  • On our website: Each product page shows a full allergen breakdown
  • In-store: Allergen information is available at point of purchase
  • On request: Contact us for detailed ingredient sourcing information

Example: "Contains: MILK, NUTS (cashews), MUSTARD"

Cross-Contamination Risks

Our kitchen handles multiple allergens and cross-contamination may occur.

We take the following precautions:

  • Dedicated preparation areas where possible
  • Regular cleaning and sanitization of surfaces and equipment
  • Staff training on allergen awareness and safe food handling
  • Separate storage for high-risk allergens (nuts, shellfish)
  • Clear labeling and color-coded utensils

All Chilled Curry stores follow strict food safety regulations:

Food Hygiene Rating:All stores display their rating (aim for 5 stars)
Temperature Control:Products stored at 0-5°C, monitored continuously
Use-by Dates:Clearly marked on every product – never consume after this date
Staff Training:Level 2 Food Safety certification minimum for all kitchen staff
HACCP Systems:Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points in place
Regular Inspections:Environmental Health Officer visits and internal audits

Storage & Reheating Instructions

Storage

  • Keep refrigerated at 0-5°C
  • Do not freeze unless stated
  • Store away from raw meat
  • Keep sealed until ready to eat
  • Consume by use-by date

Reheating

  • Heat until piping hot (75°C+)
  • Stir halfway through
  • Do not reheat more than once
  • Follow pack instructions
  • Let stand before serving
